Take these 3 tips and use them now and feel your Self Esteem levels rocket:

Put your needs first. Don’t let concerns about what others might think stop you doing what makes you happy. If it’s legal and doesn’t hurt anyone else, then if it makes you happy, go ahead and do it. Once you start to life this way you will start to feel freer in both your mind and your soul.

  • Once you start living this way, no longer worry about other people’s opinion of you, opportunities for fun, happiness and wealth will start to appear as you open yourselves up to opportunity rather than always being worried about being judged and closing yourself down.
  • In many cases it will be members of your family that are your biggest source of judgment. If this is case for you, get used to treating their negativity in the manner it deserves. Sure advice from your family and friends can be useful and well meant, but don’t automatically put it above your hope and dreams. If you feel the advice you are getting is really criticism or an attempt to run your life, say no. Then remember to put yourself first.

Look after yourself and your appearance. There is no doubt about it, when you look good you feel good. We are not talking about how good looking you are, what is important is that you are taking pride in your appearance. You will always feel better if you are well groomed and stylishly dressed. People will respond to you more positively as you go about your day with the added confidence that your appearance will bring.

  • Despite what you may be thinking, you don’t need a lot of money to look good. Start by eating a healthy diet, shower every day and attend to your skin and hair. Finally make sure that your clothing is clean and pressed, this will be far more important than whether you are dressed in the latest designer labels or not.

  • If there is some aspect of your appearance that is really worrying you, try to do something to fix it. If you think your nose is too big, use makeup to tone it down. If you’re unhappy with stomach or hips, try wearing a body shaper. Working on your posture or wearing clothes that focus on your good points are other inexpensive ways to improve your appearance.

Surround yourself with people who are positive. Don’t waste time on negative people who want to bring your down. Instead seek out positivity and spend your time with people who have that quality. You need to be with people who care and appreciate you. Receiving constant negativity and unwarranted criticism is likely to cause low self-esteem. If your family and friends are guilty of this then explain to them the effect it is having on you.  True friends will stop straight way. If they don’t, then they were never really your friends.

  • Some people know no other way but to dish out negativity. If your group of friends includes these sort of people then work on distancing yourself from them.

  • However, your friends and family don’t have to be positive all the time. They may be down occasionally, and now and again you may benefit from some ‘honest’ advice. Learn to distinguish this from constant negativity, and respond accordingly.

  • Create your own positivity by taking up an old hooby you used to love, or a new one you have always wanted to try. You’ll feel better about yourself as you increase your levels of joy, and you can then start to help other people who need some happy, positive friends.

Developing high self esteem may seem straight forward, but many people struggle with insecurities and self-doubt like this. However, by following the tips above, you will notice your self-esteem begin to increase. To paraphrase L’Oreal, you’re worth the effort and your happiness is important to the world.
