Keep believing in yourself, even when times are tough

When times start to get tough always remember that your best tool, to help deal with your troubles, will be a positive mindset. If you retain a positive mindset you will have the strength to deal with and barriers that are place in your way, and go on to achieve great success.

I know it can be hard to believe this when everything around you seems to be falling apart, but holding onto a positive outlook is definitely the best way to push on through the hard times and quickly get to happier days.

To help you to achieve this aim, try out some of the three approaches below:

Remember positive outcomes from the past. Think back to situations in the past when you felt that you had a world of trouble to face, but at the end of the day you came through and things were not as bad as you thought they would be.  The fact  that you have overcome problems in the past shows that you are a strong and capable person and can deal with what is facing you now.

  • It doesn’t matter if you take past failures or past successes into account, you can learn from both. The key thing is that you got through tough times in the past, so you can again. Use successful strategies again, and make sure you avoid things that haven’t worked so well in the past.

  • Whilst doing this make sure you don’t stir up painful old feelings. Thius should be a positive exercise, so if you start to feel bad feelings skip this stage and move onto the techniques below.

Get started straight away. Don’t fall into the trap of trying to ignore troubles when they arise, hoping they will go away. If you put a difficult problem off because you can face dealing with it, it will only become more pressing and difficult to deal with. A good example here is when you are getting into debt.

  • Stop yourself being faced with an urgent panic by tackling the problem proactively now. You can even do this is you are worried that a situation may arise. Spend a little time preparing a plan that you can implement if the worse happen. In all likelihood this will make you feel much better, knowing that you can tackle things quickly if the worst happens.

  • Don’t waste time seeking to many vies from others (unless it is of a specialist nature). You are the best person to know what you want to achieve, and hence you are the best person to come up with the solution to your problems. You have the power and the ability to solve the problem in any way you see fit.  Be aware of that power and draw strength from it.

change the way you look at things

Have belief. You will be able to overcome these troubles. You have faced troubles before and lived  to see better days, you can do it again,

  • Because of your troubles you may think that some people are thinking badly of you, but they are probably not really. More important are the people who love you. Friends, your children, partner, and the rest of your family with be right behind you. They won’t doubt you as they will have seen your strengths in the past and know you will come through.

  • I love this quote from Bernice Reagon which sums things up nicely, “Life’s challenges are not supposed to paralyze you; they’re supposed to help you discover who you are.”

  • So use this difficult time to find out what you are made of. You will see how strong and resourceful you can be if you believe in yourself.

Your mindset is your best friend but if you let it is will become a nasty enemy. To prevent it becoming an enemy never let your mindset become negative, as this will lead to negative results.

Keep your mindset positive and you will have positive results!
